Individual Lashes Information!

Remember that abuse of individuals can lead to tearing your natural lashes. Use precaution!

Maintenance Sheet Created By: Lashville Lashes

Before coming to your lash appointment:
ü        Make sure you wash your face with warm soap and water especially around the eye area.  If you’ve previously worn tones of mascara or eyeliner, make sure you use oil-free eye-makeup remover then thoroughly cleanse.
ü        Do not wash your face 24 hours after lash application.

Q: How long will my individual flare eyelashes last?
A:   The length of time depends strictly on how you take care of them. Please read the do’s & don’ts below. There is no definite timing on how long the individual eyelashes last, they can shed at any given time.  It also depends on how you maintain them. The way you sleep, oil secretion from your eyelids, & oil based eye-makeup products/ remover are other factors. Lashes may last 1 to 6 weeks or more requiring a fill-in at any given time. Each person results may vary. Remember, this is a semi-permanent service  meaning your artificial lashes won’t last forever…… PLEASE USE COMMON JUDGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!
((If You should lose 1 or 3 lashes within the 1st 4 days, apply black liner on top of your eyelids to camouflage the gaps if you're out of town for some reason.))
Q:  Will the individual eyelashes tear out my own lashes?
A:   You have the option to have your lashes applied with the soft glue which doesn’t pull out "as much" of your own lashes or the regular individual eyelash glue which is the hard
glue that may pull out the majority of your own hair during the removal process plus when they shed.  The soft glue can last as long as the regular, hard single-lash
glue if you stay away from hot steam.  The soft glue may possibly last 1 to 4 weeks or more depending on how you take care of them.  You may loose some of your own natural lashes with the regular, hard individual eyelash glue when the lashes shed and also during the removal process.
PLEASE REQUEST SOFT GLUE BEFORE APPLICATION IF YOU CHOOSE THIS OPTION…
Q: My lashes got wet and steamy where the soft glue is visible & clumpy, how do I hide the appearance of the glue on my lashes?
A: Simply, apply black liquid eyeliner on the area of the adhesive that's visibly clumpy.  Use the liquid eyeliner as if it's a paint brush to completely cover the grayish looking glue
Q:  How do I remove the individual eyelashes?
A:  A steamy hot towel, eyelash adhesive remover, and Q-tips (if you choose to have your lashes done with the regular hard eyelash glue).  This process may take 15- 30-60
minutes.  If you have your lashes applied with the soft glue, there’s no need to use the glue remover - just place a steamy hot towel against your eyes and they will immediately come off after 2 or 3 uses of the steam from the hot towel.  The removal of the soft glue application doesn’t take long at all & the best part about it, you won’t pull out your own lashes.
NEVER USE BABY OIL, SOAP, OR GREASE TO REMOVE YOUR FALSE EYELASHES when the hard glue is used for application.  Only use eyelash glue remover when the hard glue is used.
Click on the "Lash Glue" link for more details as to which glue you would prefer.
Q: What is the difference between individual flare eyelashes, individual single lashes, strip lashes, & eyelash extenstions? Please follow the illustration(s) below . . .
A.  B.  C. D.
(A) Individual flare lashes has approximately 6 - 10 strands to a bud of the lash and gives a much fuller appearance whereas the individual single lashes are just one strand to a bud.

(B) The single lashes look similar to wearing eyelash extensions except there are about 2 lashes on the bud -"base" where the strands of fiber is thicker & it gives a fuller look to the eyes than the eyelash extensions.

(C) Strip lashes are connected to a whole band of lashes and don't last as long as the individuals because of the application procedure.
Applying the band to the eyelids is the only way of application and your eyelids secrete alot of oil.  Remember, the band is touching your lid and your lid secrete sebum from your sebaceous glands.  Sebum is an oily secretion of the sebaceous gland which helps to preserve the flexibility of the hair of your real lashes

Wearing eyeliner on your top eyelid as well as bottom is preferred when wearing strips to make them look authentic. The strips are worn preferably for special occasions only because they may last 1 to 3 days.  The strip lashes should preferably be remove nightly because the adhesive on your skin may irritate your eyes if they’re sensitive.

D) Eyelash extensions are very tiny synthetic fibers identical to your own lashes.  These lashes are applied hair to hair using a medical grade surgical glue.  These lashes tend to shed with the life cycle of your own individual single lashes.  These lashes are applied one-by-one connecting to your one single lash alone.

Individual lash glue & surgical glue are to be applied hair to hair where as the strip lash glue is to be applied to the skin.
(((If you are allergic to latex, do not request the soft glue )))

Q: I have sensitive skin & allergies, can I wear false eyelashes?
A:  Yes you can wear lashes.  If you experience any discomfort use allergy drops if necessary.  Only you know what you can bear, use common judgment.

Note: If your eyes are sensitive & you wear contact lenses, be sure to bring your solution and contact lens case before application if you're extremely sensitive around the eye area.

Q:  I wear contact lens, can I wear individual false eyelashes?
A:   Yes, anyone can wear individual false eyelashes because they are placed on your natural lashes & not on the skin of your eyelid.

Do’s & Don’ts
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Don’ts
ü        Do not sleep facing the pillow.  The pillow will separate the lashes causing them to bend upward & downward.
ü        When taking a shower, be sure not to let water get in your face & make sure the water isn’t steamy hot.
ü        Do not use mascara on your new lashes as this will cause the lashes to clump.
ü        When applying eyeliner or eyeshadow, DO NOT stretch the eye area.  Stretching the eyes will separate your lashes.

Do’s
ü        Sleep on your back or with a large pair of shades or glasses as this will cause your lashes not to separate or bend while sleeping.
ü        When washing your face, wipe under and over the eye area carefully.  Use oil-free eye makeup remover with a Q-tip if you wear eye cosmetics
ü        Sleeping with glasses or shades will cause your lashes to last a lot longer than expected due to your face not touching the pillow.  If this isn’t for you, do not try this at home…

Note:
The individual eyelash adhesive sometime causes your eyelids to itch due to dust and lent particles in the air.  If this should happen to your, make sure you gently rub the eye area to scratch or use a wet Q-tip to remove the invisible lent particles from underneath your eyelid.

If you’re a client who doesn’t frequently visit the hair salon for services, you may need to take extra precautions when washing your hair at home.  This is the chance you take while trying to maintain your lashes and not get them wet.  It is preferably a good idea to visit the salon for hair services.

LASH REMOVAL PROCEDURE WHEN SOFT GLUE IS USED:

When removing lashes, use a steamy hot towel.  Lash Adhesive Remover is not needed when the soft glue is used.  Simply wet your face towel and squeeze.  Place the wet face towel into the microwave for about 1 1/2 minute.  If towel is too hot, shake some of the steam out and apply the steamy hot towel underneath your eyes with your eyes closed.  You may steam your eyes 1 to 4 times, and the steam will separate the lashes from you own natural lashes.
You will still have your own natural lashes after removal when choosing the soft glue.

LASH REMOVAL PROCEDURE WHEN HARD GLUE IS USED:

When removing lashes, make sure you use eyelash glue remover a steamy hot towel.   Make sure your eyes are closed tightly because the remover will burn your eyes.  Put the wet face towel in the microwave for 1 ½ minute.  Shake the steam from the towel one time and place the towel under your eyes then dip the Q-Tip in the adhesive remover.  Use the Q-tip like you’re applying mascara.  Repeat steam & glue remover steps until lashes are removed completely.
Glue Remover Can Be Purchased From Any Sally's Beauty Supply Store.
