Who Says That Dark Skinned Black Women Cannot Wear Exotic Shades of Lipstick

Dark-skinned Black women often times had a difficult time finding the "correct" lipstick shade for their complexion. They were advised to avoid pale and/or bright lipstick shades and to stick with darked, more subdued lipstick shades.  Dark-skinned Black women often had lipsticks custom made for them.  Until the present time, makeup companies had  very few lipstick shades for dark-skinned Black women to wear.

Dark complected Black skin in shades ranging from dark umber to blue black tones is the perfect canvas for wearing pale and bright lipstick shades.  Nothing looks more edgy and has more of a pow value as a dark skinned Black woman wearing a light and/or bright lipstick shade.  The old rules which assert that dark complected Black women should not wear light and/or bright lipstick is totally passe.  For example, a pale beige lipgloss looks very sensuous on cool umber to ebony complexions.  A light taupe lipgloss also looks chic on cool umber to ebony complexions.

Hot pink lipsticks look shockingly sensational on dark complected Black women.  There is nothing more avant garde or cutting edge than a dark completed Black woman wearing a shocking pink shade of lipstick.  Furthermore, pink shades of lipsticks ranging from a pale pink lipgloss to a deep pink taupe add color and pizazz to dark complected Black women, especially thoses with cool chocolate brown skintones.

Bright vermilion red, tomato red, and carrot red lipsticks add a dash of 1940s glamour  to dark mahogany brown complexions.  Dark skinned Black women can wear pale and/or bright lipstick shades with aplomb. Wearing lipstick is supposed to be a fun and creative fashion statement.  Throw out that old rule book!  Rules are not etched in stone and are made to be cast aside.
